May Mental Health
Awareness Month
We have just completed the month of May which is:
Mental Health Awareness Month
There is no better time than now to start making mental health a priority. Mental health conditions are real, common, and treatable. People experiencing mental health challenges deserve support, compassion, and care – not sigma and shame.
Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
Mental Health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Don’t be afraid to reach out if you or someone you know needs help. Learning all you can about Mental Health is an important first step.
If you or you know someone who is in a suicidal crisis or mental health-related distress call the 988 Lifeline that provides 24/7 confidential support to people in suicidal crisis or mental health-related distress. By calling or texting 988, you'll connect to mental health professionals with the Lifeline network.
